Storms Loom After Fire Danger In GA: Latest Forecast
Georgia residents have been put on notice about fire risks ahead of anticipated showers and storms.
More thunderstorms are on the way in Georgia, starting Wednesday night when showers will roll into the Peach State, weather officials say.
The National Weather Service on Monday predicted isolated to scattered thunderstorms in north and central Georgia.
The rain will first begin with showers and isolated thunder overnight Wednesday into Thursday, NWS meteorologist Vaughn Smith told Patch on Tuesday.

No severe weather is expected, but Smith surmised the downpour will linger through Saturday in areas south of Macon.
But before the rain comes, weather officials have put metro Atlanta and surrounding towns on notice about fire danger risks Tuesday due to dry and windy conditions. An alert warning residents to not burn outdoors will remain active until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Relative humidity levels were less than 25 percent, and southwest winds blew at 3-9 mph, according to a special weather statement from the NWS.
Moisture ahead of a frontal boundary will limit the risks of fire danger Wednesday, Smith said.
After recent below-freezing temperatures, metro Atlanta will warm into the high 60s by Saturday.
