Here are the top three stories in Atlanta today:

  1. Atlanta's Roswell suburb is considering a new ban on standalone apartments. During a Monday meeting of the Roswell City Council, a new amendment was discussed that would prevent developers from submitting rezoning requests with the city for building new standalone apartment structures. This would be done by completely removing the multifamily zoning district from the city's development code. The only way for new apartment units to be built within the city would be for them to be attached to non-residential facilities. (The Business Journals)
  2. The Atlanta Film Festival will close with a presentation of Mija. The closing night event will be on Apr. 30 at The Plaza Theater on Ponce De Leon Avenue N at 7:00 p.m. The film follows the careers of two young music industry leads that wrestle with being the first American-born members of their respective undocumented families. 3. Crews with the Atlanta Department of Transportation have been hard at work filling potholes along Palatine Avenue. The southeast Atlanta area has been dealing with roadway craters for months. Mayor Andre Dickens reportedly wants to focus on addressing road problems throughout the city. The department has set a goal of filling 30 potholes a day. (WSB Atlanta)
