Take A Selfie Where The Stars Were

Georgia has been home to many filming locations for some great films, and now you can tour the state, visiting spots where filming happened.

ATLANTA, GA -- Georgia's newest tourist attraction is the Georgia Film Selfie Spot Tour, a self-guided journey through some of the state's top film tourism spots. The tour includes 33 sites across the state.

Kevin Langston, deputy commissioner of tourism for the Georgia Department of Economic Development, said "Georgia has grown to become a top destination for filmmakers and a top destination for film fans."

The program is run through Georgia Tourism, the Economic Development Department's tourism arm. Film fans will be able to check out some of the locations from their favorite films like Captain America: Civil War, Forrest Gump, My Cousin Vinny, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and more.

Social media fans are encouraged to share their "insta-worthy selfies" on the spot tour. Each of the 33 sites will have a decal on the ground where they recommend tourists take their selfies.

"Visitors come from all over the world to follow in the footsteps of their favorite movie and TV personalities and the new Georgia Film Selfie Spot Tour will help them do just that. This is a fun and exciting way to experience these locations scattered all over Georgia," Langston said.
