Teen Faces Murder In Shooting Deaths Of 2 In South Fulton
A 14-year-old accused of shooting to death two other teenagers is facing murder charges and is being charged as an adult.
SOUTH FULTON, GA — A 14-year-old is facing murder charges in connection with the recent shooting deaths of two teenagers in the 4200 block of Fortune Point, South Fulton Police said Sunday.
Police said they arrested Keyshawn Hughes on Sunday in connection with the March 17 shooting deaths of 14-year-old Jeremiah Carter and 16-year-old J’Mauri Smarr.
Hughes was tracked to a local church, where Hughes was seen getting into a vehicle, police said.

Officers conducted a traffic stop, and Hughes was arrested on charges of felony murder and other charges, police said. Hughes is being charged as an adult, police said.
A $10,000 reward leading to an arrest and indictment was offered for tips in the case. Police said 12 additional tips were received since Friday's callout for information.

Carter and Smarr were found suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle and later died of their injuries at a hospital, police said.
The shooting resulted from a prior dispute, police said. They added Carter and Smarr did not live in the neighborhood where the shooting took place.
