Top Children's Hospital In Georgia: U.S. News & World Report

One hospital in Georgia is among the best for children in the U.S., says U.S. News & World Report's latest rankings.

ATLANTA, GA — One children’s hospital in Georgia is among the best in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings.

The best children’s hospitals for 2019-20 rankings released on Tuesday feature the 50 best hospitals in 10 pediatric specialties and 10 hospitals that landed on U.S. News’ honor roll. The hospitals on the honor roll “deliver exceptionally high-quality care across multiple specialties.”

In Georgia, only Children's Healthcare of Atlanta ranked in all 10 pediatric specialties. No Georgia facility made the top 10 honor roll.

The 10 hospitals that made U.S. News’ honor roll are:

  2. Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center
  3. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
  4. Texas Children's Hospital, Houston
  5. Children's National Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
  6. Children's Hospital Los Angeles
  7. Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus, Ohio
  8. Johns Hopkins Children's Center, Baltimore
  9. Children's Hospital Colorado, Aurora
  10. Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago

U.S. News says its methodology in tabulating the rankings takes into account measures like patient outcome, including mortality and infection rates, and also available clinical resources and compliance with best practices. (You can read more about the methodology here.)
