A Trio of Entrepreneurs Design Atlanta Bows of Hope to Cheer ATL

Entrepreneurs Design Cheerful "Atlanta Bows of Hope" to Brighten the Lives of Others During the COVID Pandemic - 5% Goes to Meals on Wheels

A local team of floral designers and event planning entrepreneurs who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic have joined forces to share a little light and hope during these uncertain times around Atlanta by creating the initiative “Atlanta Bows of Hope” to brighten people’s day and to encourage people to pass on the kindness to family, friends, and frontline workers.

Floral designers Nicole Kupris of Edelweiss Floral Design Studio and Don Chestnut of Atlanta School of Floral Design, and event planner Betsy Helgager Hughes of Punch of Creativity, all of whom are in the business of bringing joy to their clientele through floral design and meaningful events, decided to come together to cheer up the landscape and hearts of the communities throughout Atlanta who may be feeling helpless.

“Right now, we could all use a little cheering up,” said Chestnut. “While we are getting fresh air in our neighborhoods after being cooped up most of the day, our Atlanta Bows of Hope can help bring people joy while we pull through this together.”

The Atlanta Bows of Hope come in a variety of joyful colors and are adorned with silk flowers to withstand the outdoor elements for weeks. In addition to purchases, they are also open to receiving donations of ribbon, silk flowers and financial donations to grow the initiative to spread the love even further across the city. They are using their inventory until it runs out.

“I believe cheerful colors, often found in nature and flowers, ignite a positive emotional response of joy and happiness,” said Kupris. “Imagine the joy you would feel if you went out for a walk to find that someone had placed something so cheerful on your mailbox as an act of kindness, hope or to say thank you?”

Atlanta Bows of Hope can be found on Etsy for $30 with free, local, contact-free delivery to an address of your choice with a free-standing mailbox. All bows are made by designers wearing latex gloves and is designed for the outdoors. For local deliveries, the bows will be tied to mailboxes so there is no need for face-to-face interaction.

“With the event business coming to an abrupt halt, we have to redefine what an ‘event’ is,” said Helgager Hughes. “With the need to social distance with others, Atlanta Bows of Hope provides a visual event for those walking or driving through their communities while also raising needed resources for Meals on Wheels, an organization that serves the elderly who are some of the most vulnerable right now, and who often experience food insecurity in times where there isn't a health pandemic.”
