UPS To Bring Hundreds of Jobs to Atlanta: Officials
Fortune 500 company to invest more than $400 million in regional hub.
ATLANTA, GA — In a news conference Thursday, Mayor Kasim Reed and Gov. Nathan Deal announced that United Parcel Service (UPS) will create 1,250 jobs and invest more than $400 million in a regional hub in Atlanta.
The new sorting and distribution hub will open by the end of 2018, the officials said. UPS will create supervision, administrative and warehouse positions at the site.
“I am very pleased to see that UPS, a Fortune 500 company and mainstay in Atlanta for many years, will plant deeper roots in our city,” Reed said. “This investment in southwest Atlanta will not only create 1,250 new jobs, but strengthen our position as an international hub for logistics.”

UPS has its global headquarters in Atlanta and employs more than 14,000 Georgia residents in package delivery and other areas. The Fortune 500 company serves more than 220 countries and territories.
