VP Mike Pence To Meet With Gov. Kemp, Restaurant Executives
Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to have lunch with Gov. Kemp on Friday and then restaurant executives later.
ATLANTA, GA — Gov. Brian Kemp will have lunch Friday with Vice President Pence to discuss how Georgia is reopening. Afterwards, the vice president will participate in a roundtable with restaurant executives at the Waffle House Headquarters, according to the White House.
He will return to Washington, D.C. later that evening.
Kemp has shared in news conferences since the coronavirus pandemic began, that he’s been in constant contact with the vice president.

Additional details about the visit will be forthcoming, the White House said.
Georgia began reopening with strict guidelines in place on May 1. The statewide shelter-in-place expired at the end of April.
Kemp let the order expire, but extended the state's first-ever public health emergency and a shelter-in-place order for the elderly and medically fragile through July 12.
