Watch: LaGrange Cop Attacked in Playground Fight

The officer was responding to a disturbance on Saturday when he was attacked by a man at the playground.

A police officer in middle Georgia who was responding to a call about a playground fight got involved in the fracas as well.

The incident happened Saturday in LaGrange, when Officer Brady Pike responded to the call around 3 pm. The call was about a man allegedly creating a disturbance at the park, according to LaGrange News.

Police say the man had grabbed a child who didn't belong to him; the child's parents were nearby. When Pike asked the man to put the child down, he lunged at the officer and hit him in the face.

After a scuffle and other officers and bystanders getting involved, the man was subdued and arrested. His name has not been released.

The officer suffered a bloody nose and some scrapes. He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to be fine.
