What's New In Atlanta? 5 Business Openings, Expansions To Know
A famed R&B singer and a chef expanded their third eatery while a womens' fitness wear company is opening its first outlet store.
ATLANTA, GA — Not only are new restaurants popping up around town, existing businesses are spreading their footprints across metro Atlanta.
Some are opening their first location in the region while others are expanding, adding to the economic landscape in the local communities.

Wake up, Alpharetta. Snooze Alpharetta is coming soon.
The new breakfast restaurant is slated to open on June 28 at 6065 Northpoint Parkway, Suite 230, according to a company news release. Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, promises to serve "breakfast but different," according to its website.
The Alpharetta location is Snooze's fourth Georgia site. The establishment also has restaurants in north Buckhead, west Midtown and Piedmont Park.

“We’ve received such amazing community support in Atlanta, and we couldn’t be more excited to grow here and open a Snooze in Alpharetta,” said David Birzon, Snooze chief executive officer. “Snooze’s creative but thoughtful take on breakfast is a perfect fit for this creative community.”
Snooze offers an array of breakfast meals, ranging from the kale and avocado quinoa bowl to the blueberry danish pancakes to Juan's breakfast tacos. Huevos tostadas, the double bacon sandwich, maple and black pepper glazed bacon and the smashed avocado benny are also on the menu.
Hours of operation: 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. weekdays and 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Johnny's Chicken and Waffles is now open in Midtown.
With locations in College Park and Glendale, Arizona, Midtown is the location for Chef Crystal Smith and Grammy-winning R&B singer Ne-Yo's third restaurant. The eatery opened this month at 1080 Crescent Avenue.
Johnny's dishes out macaroni and cheese, buttermilk biscuits, seared salmon, cajun penne pasta, catfish and chips, crispy garlic breakfast potatoes, fried lobster tails — and of course, chicken and waffles.
Dine-in and takeout are available. Online ordering is offered for the Atlanta locations.
Hours of operation: 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10-1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
Mauldin and Jenkins, a certified public accounting firm, is expanding its headquarters in the Cobb Galleria.
The firm is planning a complete office renovation at 200 Galleria, SelectCobb and the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce said in a news release.
"By investing in the community, we not only strengthen the foundation on which our firm stands, but we also cultivate a brighter future for those who live and work here," Mauldin and Jenkins Partner Jeff Fucito said in the release.
The accounting firm has been in Atlanta for nearly 40 years.
Woodstock will soon welcome Athleta to the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta.
The womens' fitness wear company will open in early July, according to a news release.
“We’re beyond excited to have Athleta opening at the center this summer,” Todd Chauvin, the general manager of The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta, said in the news release. “Having this performance lifestyle brand will certainly be an attractive addition for our shoppers, especially during the summer shopping season.”
Athleta will span 4,100-square-feet of space and will be the brand's first outlet store location in metro Atlanta, according to the release.
There are 13 part-time brand associate positions available at the Woodstock Athleta as of early Thursday morning.
Hours of operation: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday.
Avondale Estates became home to Leftie Lee's on June 1 at 6 Olive Street in the Olive + Pine complex.
The bakeshop and sandwich eatery's website is currently under construction; however, a GoFundMe previously established to raise money for the business lists the owner as Vivian Lee.
"The inspiration behind the name of my first brick-and-mortar came from my 4-year-old daughter, who is very much left-handed. The nickname started out as Leftie Lou, which then gave me inspiration for Leftie Lee's," Lee wrote on the GoFundMe.
The restaurant's menu includes egg toast, a braised beef sandwich, a chicken salad, Italian bologna, a host of rotating pastries, spiced mushroom, a kimchi buttermilk biscuit with gravy.
Hours of operation: 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday.
