Wind Advisory In Effect In Metro Atlanta; Power Outages Reported

Georgia Power is reporting outages including in Atlanta, Druid Hills, Decatur, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Buckhead, Midtown, and Sandy Springs.

ATLANTA, GA — Expect gusty winds Monday morning, as the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the Atlanta metro area until noon.

Wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour are possible, with northwest winds of 15-25 mph blowing in.

The NWS said trees, limbs, and power lines could be blown down as the winds move through Georgia. Stronger gusts are possible in the north Georgia mountains.

Georgia Power is reporting outages across the state, including in Atlanta, Druid Hills, Decatur, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Buckhead, Midtown, and Sandy Springs. The company said crews will continue to monitor outages and work to repair them as needed.

A winter storm warning and winter weather advisory have expired in parts of north Georgia. There is a possibility for a wintry mix in far north Georgia Wednesday night into Thursday and Thursday night into Friday.
