WNBA 1st Round Playoffs Set As ATL Dream Scores Home-Court Advantage

ATLANTA, GA — The matchups are officially set for the first round of the 2026 WNBA Playoffs, with the Atlanta Dream set to host the Washington Mystics.

After a 30-14 regular season run, the Dream will take on the Mystics at 7 p.m. Sunday at State Farm Arena. The contest will stream on Amazon Prime Video.

The Dream finished fourth in the league and secured home-court advantage after defeating the New York Liberty 83-65 Wednesday in Brooklyn.

"I think these last two games, really this last stretch, has been about us and not our opponent," forward Naz Hillmon said during a post-game news conference. "We know that we're looking forward to playoffs, and we want to be playing our best basketball. So, whatever that was supposed to look like in these last couple of games, that was our focus."

The team was likely set to face the Indiana Fever; however, the Fever dropped to sixth seed after an 86-66 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Thursday.

The Dream and the Mystics will go head-to-head in a three-game series. The Dream ended its regular season 1-2 against the Mystics.

The WNBA on Friday announced Dream forward Angel Reese, known to her fanbase as "Barbie," as one of the league's top performers. Reese averaged 12.1 rebounds per game.

She was also named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. The Dream finished first in the conference.

After Game 1, the Dream will head to Washington, D.C. for its second matchup versus the Mystics on Wednesday - which will stream on ESPN. If there is a Game 3, it will be held in Atlanta.
