Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run Near Downtown Connector

She was hit around 1:50 a.m. near the Langford Parkway split, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

ATLANTA, GA — A woman was killed early Thursday morning in a hit-and-run near the Downtown Connector in Atlanta, according to police.

The woman, whom police had not publicly identified Thursday morning, was hit around 1:50 a.m. That's when Atlanta Police Department officers were called to the Connector at the Arthur Langford Parkway split.

When they arrived, the met with two drivers who had "pulled over in the gore" to help a woman they said was having trouble waking in the roadway, police spokeswoman Officer Lisa Bender said. When they did, the woman collapsed.

An EMS crew from Grady Memorial Hospital got there and told police that the woman was dead. Investigators said it appeared she had been hit by a vehicle, but that no vehicle stopped at the scene. Police were continuing to investigate later Thursday morning.
