Woman Killed, I-75 Shut Down For Hours

Witnesses told police that the woman appeared to intentionally run into traffic Thursday morning.

ATLANTA, GA — Interstate 75 in Atlanta was shut down for hours Thursday morning after police say a woman ran into traffic and was hit by multiple cars.

I-75 northbound was closed near Cleveland Avenue from about 5:16 a.m. until just before 8:15 a.m., according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Police Thursday morning had not identified the woman and said it was not immediately clear how many different vehicles hit her. All drivers who struck the pedestrian pulled over after doing so, police said.
