The Words 'Black Lives Matter' Appear On Atlanta BeltLine
'Black Lives Matter' was written in large letters on the Atlanta BeltLine.
ATLANTA, GA — Sometime over Thursday night, big yellow letters spelling ‘Black Lives Matter’ were painted on the Atlanta BeltLine.
It runs from the Eastside Trail between near New Realm Brewing and Ponce City Market, reported WSB-TV. The names of Black people killed by police—Rayshard Brooks, George Floyd and Breonna Taylor—were also painted.
Similar depictions have appeared across the country, but originated in D.C. north of the White House, according to The Washington Post. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser renamed a portion of the street “Black Lives Matter Plaza.”
