World's Best Cities: ATL Lands At No. 50 On A Top 100 Best Cities List

The Georgia capitol topped several internationally-known cities.

ATLANTA, GA — The heart of the Peach State is one of the best cities in the world, according to a Best Cities report.

Peaking at No. 50 on a 2023 Top 100 World's Best Cities list, Atlanta outshined several well-known international cities including Miami, Rio De Janeiro, Denver, Brussels, Vancouver, Mexico City, Mumbai, Shanghai and Montreal.

The list was compiled to note the top 100 cities to live, invest in and work.

Best Cities, of Resonance Consultancy, called Atlanta "ambitious and dripping with history."

According to the report, Atlanta is heavily diverse and has a rich American civil rights legacy, being the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

With a growing population of more than 5.8 million people, Atlanta continues to swell as more than 200,000 people relocated to the Georgia capitol in the past year, according to the report.

As the population expands, Best Cities reported developers are planning downtown Atlanta residential, retail and office space projects while dozens of historic buildigs are being resurrected.

Another renovation consists of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the report stated.

Kyiv received the 2023 Honorary Best City as the monthslong war in Ukraine proceeds. Best Cities called Kyiv "the urban beacon of courage and resilience."
