• Contractor fatally shot at Norfolk Southern facility in metro Atlanta (kiss104fm.com) — Police are investigating a deadly shooting at the Norfolk Southern railyard in Austell, where 27-year-old contractor Curdravious Clark was killed while sitting in a truck Monday night. Cobb County officers say the suspect or suspects fled in a vehicle, and the case remains active. Residents should expect an ongoing investigation and watch for further updates from authorities.
   

• Greif to exit CRB market with Georgia mill closure (packagingdive.com) — Greif plans to close its Sweetwater paperboard mill in Austell by year's end, cutting about 95 local jobs and ending the company's coated recycled paperboard production. The decision follows earlier cutbacks at the same site and is part of a broader cost-cutting strategy. Austell workers face staggered separation dates in November and March as operations wind down.
