Do you have a bicycle at home that is gently used but still works? Is anyone using it or is it collecting dust in your garage?
Several of the women in the shelter have asked if we could get a few bicycles for them to ride so that they could have a broader area to look for work.
If you have any bicycles you would be interested in donating, please call our Administrative Line (770-307-3633) to schedule a pick-up, or drop it off at the Peace Place Thrift Store.
We will also need bike locks and a bike rack--so if you have any of these to donate that would be helpful too!
Our women come to shelter striving to have their independence, and earning gainful employment is part of that transition. Being able to borrow a bicycle from the shelter will help them meet their needs for employment and to be able to run other errands.
