The town unveils its most recent architectural plans on the Braselton Projects and Initiatives web page.

Smith Dalia Architects LLC — the firm chosen to design the renovation of one of the town of Braselton’s most recognizable historic landmarks — recently unveiled its plans for the Braselton Brothers Department Store in the heart of downtown.
The town of Braselton has posted those plans on its Projects and Initiatives page. To view the plans in their entirety, simply click on the link marked “Draft Plans, March 2012” to the lower, right-hand side of the photo of the Braselton Brothers Department Store.
Slated for completion in or before October 2013, the construction will involve an addition to the back of the structure incorporating a number of new storefronts and an outdoor terrace.

Established in 1887 by John Oliver Braselton — who was later joined by brothers Green and Henry — Braselton Brothers Department Store was once home to a thriving merchantile business that sold everything from clothing and shoes to dry goods and groceries. The Braselton family ran the business for more than 100 years. Today, it is home to the Braselton Antique Market owned by Fred and Robbie Bettis, who reopened the doors to the historic store in 2003.
