Thanks to our Military on Memorial Day Weekend!

Good morning on this beautiful Saturday morning. I hope you are looking forward to a nice relaxing Memorial Day Weekend, but I want to take just a moment to remind all of us about the reason for Memorial Day.

The United States is the best nation on this earth, even with our problems. One of the main reasons you and I can go to bed at night and feel safe is that our Military works very hard to protect us. These men and women are very dedicated to serving the United States. Unfortunately some of them lose their lives in this dedication and those, we salute this weekend.

I remember a long time ago, when I was a child, standing on the front porch of my grandparents' house and watching two hearses one behind the other go down Highway 82 in Winder. Those were brothers who were killed in war. Still today I get chill bumps when I think about this.

To our Military and their families, I thank you for the sacrifices you make for all of us. May God bless you richly and protect you in all your assignments.
