Braselton Resident Quoted in Associated Press Story on Weak Recession Recovery

Gregory Mann, an unemployed research analyst and real estate appraiser, said he and his wife are "broke and nearly homeless."

Gregory Mann said he has applied for jobs at McDonald's, Target and Nordstrom.

"Nothing, not even a rejection letter," the 58-year-old Braselton resident told the Associated Press. A research analyst, Mann lost his job as a real estate appraiser three years ago. His wife, a registered nurse, has lost two jobs in that time and has received an offer to work reviewing medical records near Atlanta.

"We are broke and nearly homeless," Mann is quoted as saying. "If this job for my wife hadn't come through, we would be out on the street come Sept. 1 or would have had to move in with relatives."
