Brenau University Satellite Campus Coming to Braselton

The local town will be home to the new Brenau University Learning and Leisure Institute.

The town of Braselton is proud to announce that its residents have harnessed their own resources to create the first satellite campus of Brenau University Learning and Leisure Institute, or BULLI.

Designed for adults with an intellectual curiosity and love of learning, Brenau’s new venture in Braselton will serve as a pilot program that will rely heavily on course offerings, enrollment and financial support.

Initially launched on the Brenau University Campus in Gainesville in 1994, BULLI has become a popular “lifelong learning adventure” program offering non-credit classes for adults who wish to stimulate their thinking and expand their knowledge.

The Braselton campus will continue this proud tradition through both day and night classes and membership will be reciprocal with the Gainesville BULLI program. Classes at the Braselton campus are slated to begin this summer. Registration will open at 6:30 p.m. May 17 in the Community Room of the Braselton Police and Municipal Court facility in downtown Braselton.

According to Town Manager and Clerk Jennifer Dees, the Braselton campus has been the vision of a group of dedicated volunteers but requires the support of the community to make it an ongoing reality. The group is currently seeking pledges of support to help fund the cost of instructors and materials for class participants, as well as cover administrative expenses and more.

Individuals and businesses that make a donation to BULLI will not only receive tax deduction benefits, but will also be recognized through the Brenau University giving program. Interested parties can make their full donation now, or pledge a set amount per year over three years.
