CIty of Winder Countersuing Contractor

A recent lawsuit against the city of Winder by one of its contractors was answered with a countersuit, the reports. 

In March, H.S. Feldman Inc. asked the Barrow County Superior Court for a judgment in its favor because the city was attempting to break contractual agreements. 

According to the Barrow County News, the city's contract with Feldman has been a source of contention for several months. 

The city responded to the lawsuit by filing a counter claim that Feldman has overcharged for its services, overpayments that may exceed $2 million.

The city also says the contractor is in breach of contract because Herb Feldman, the "key employee" at the firm, has "announced his retirement or has terminated his involvement in the company or has been unable to perform services," the newspaper reports.
