CRCT Results for Local Students Released
Barrow County students outperformed the state in several grade levels and subjects on the Criterion Referenced Competency Tests.
Barrow County third through eighth graders beat statewide percentages in meeting or exceeding 2011 Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests standards for reading and science.
A higher percentage of local students also met or exceeded standards in English/language arts for fourth, fifth and seventh grades, standards in math for third through seventh grades and social studies standards in fourth through eighth grades.
The CRCT is designed to measure how well students acquire the skills and knowledge described in the Georgia Performance Standards. The results are then used to diagnose individual student strengths and weaknesses as related to the instruction of the GPS, and to gauge the quality of education throughout Georgia.
