Final Day to Submit Pre-K Applications Nearing

Parents of children who are eligible for the program should submit an application by March 31 to be eligible for the pre-K lottery.

March 31 is the final day parents can submit an application for the Barrow County Schools pre-K program.

Completing an application does not ensure a child a spot in the program but places the child on the list for the pre-K lottery. Lottery drawings will be held April 8 to determine the class lists and waiting lists for pre-K classes at each elementary school. The school system currently has 16 pre-K classes and enrollment is limited to 20 students per class.

Children must turn 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 to be eligible for the pre-K program. Parents are required to show proof of residency to verify school attendance zone when applying. Proof of residency can be shown by presenting a utility bill, closing papers or a house contract or a rental or lease agreement.
