Dedication Ceremony for Statham Veterans Memorial Park is Set for Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is a day often celebrated with backyard barbecues, family picnics, small town parades and fireworks that light up the night sky. This year, as the sun shines down on the city of Statham on the morning America commemorates its independence from Great Britain, its residents will pay tribute to their veterans during the dedication ceremony for the Statham Veterans Memorial Park.

The long-awaited event is slated to begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, on Railroad Street in front of the gazebo and new park. Special guest speaker Bob Adamson will address the crowd and refreshments will follow in the immediately following the ceremony.

Guests who purchased a special memorial brick to honor a veteran prior to March 31 should be able to find their brick placed within the park. Unfortunately, the city was not able to guarantee placement of bricks purchased after March 31 in time for the dedication ceremony.
