For those of you who haven't seen the Letter to the Editor that I wrote, please read on:
To the editor and the citizens of Winder:
I believe Winder has the potential to be a better city and I’m running for City Council to prove it.
Unlike my opponents, I have only lived in Winder since 2010. I have ideas for the City, am not involved in the historical politics, and, as a woman, I add diversity to the Council that hasn’t existed in decades. Since 2010, I’ve pursued my Ph.D. at UGA, volunteered for the Piedmont Rape Crisis Center and Leftover Pets, and I currently serve on the Board of Directors for Peace Place.
I communicate honestly and directly and am an efficient and effective administrator. I am dedicated, determined, and hard working. I enjoy problem solving and I will not blindly follow the crowd.
Other things that have been said about me by my colleagues include:
• She does what she says she will do.
• She is by far the most "driven" person I have ever met.
• When Nicole sets her mind to accomplish something, she will not let anything stop her. She knows exactly how to overcome adversity with dignity and respect for others.
• When I found out that she was running for City Council, my first reaction was "it’s about time"! I am wholly confident that Nicole will work for what she believes in.
• Nicole is a strong-willed woman…she stands tall and progresses forward with her eyes set on her goals.
• When there is a problem she educates herself about the issue and works diligently to find a solution… She always listens when you have something to say and unlike a lot of people, she HEARS you.
Some of my goals for the City are to improve the downtown streetscape by filling the vacant buildings, help small businesses thrive, create a downtown that is a “destination location”, increase the utilization of the Winder Community Center and surrounding area, raise awareness for local human service agencies available in Winder, and do these things in fiscally conservative ways.

If you want to live in a more inviting and invigorated City and want a member of Council who will hear you and think critically about the issues, show up on November 5 and vote Nicole Tobias for Winder City Council!
