Parents of students entering specific grades in Barrow County Schools this fall may have a choice of facilities.
The Quality Basic Education Act, HB251, enacted by the Georgia General Assembly in 2009, gives parents the option to have their student attend any school within a school system under certain conditions, provided the school has adequate space for the student and the parent provides transportation.
Barrow County Schools has space available for the 2011-12 school year at the following facilities for specific grade levels:

- β Grades 7 and 8
- College & Career Preparatory Academy β Grades 9 through 12
Parents are now be able to request that their child attend a certain school.
Transfer request forms are available onlineΒ or parents can pick one up at the . The deadline for all requests is 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 23 and proof of residency must be attached to all requests, whether delivered to mailed to Barrow County Board of Education, 179 W. Athens St., Winder GA 30680.
