Police: Wallet Thieves Charged $10K on Eldery Woman's Credit Cards

They allegedly made charges at stores in Athens and Winder.

Athens-Clarke County Police are looking for a man and a woman suspected in stealing an elderly woman’s wallet and making more than $10,000 in charges on her credit cards.

Police said a 77-year-old woman had her wallet stolen on Sept. 7 at the Publix on Atlanta Highway.

According to a news release, detectives found her credit cards were used to make purchases at Best Buy, Lowe’s and Home Depot stores on Epps Bridge Parkway, and at Belk, Target and a Shell gas station in Winder.

Police released images of the suspects (attached to this story) taken by surveillance cameras. The suspects were described as a black woman who was wearing blue clothing and a black man wearing a white shirt and khaki pants. They are believed to be travelling in a dark-in-color 2014 Toyota RAV4, with a chrome luggage rack on top.
