Salaries for School System Administration, Compensation for BOE Members Obtained for 2008 to 2011

The following salary information was obtained through the website open.georgia.gov. The Barrow County School System has been asked to provide current salary information for system administrators. 

Barrow County School System administration 

Superintendent Wanda Creel

• 2011 — $146,501.16 
• 2010 — $41,884.94 from Barrow County School System and $99,793.13 from Houston County

Former superintendent Ron Saunders 

• 2010 — $124,150.29
• 2009 — $151,122.36 
• 2008 — $150,531.42

Assistant superintendent Claire Miller — Note: Miller is no longer with the Barrow County School System as of the 2012-13 school year, having accepted a position with Oconee County Schools 

• 2011 — $111,922.44
• 2010 — $107,582.04
• 2009 — $103,007.94
• 2008 — $95,915

Assistant superintendent Jake Grant 

• 2011 — $112,074.24
• 2010 — $111,589.02
• 2009 — $114,500.04
• 2008 — $109,785.96

Barrow County Board of Education members 

Cindy Beggs, administrative assistant to the superintendent, said in an e-mail to Barrow Patch that board members are paid $50 per day that they meet regardless of how many times they meet in a day. "So, for example, if they do Clean School visits the same day as a Board meeting, they are only paid $50, not $100," Beggs wrote. "The amounts vary due to different attendance and participation on committees." 

Beggs said board members typically submit meeting reimbursement sheets monthly.
