Statham Elementary Makes Ready for Last Hoorah before School Ends

Just a few weeks remain until the last day of the 2011-12 school year.

As the sun shines brightly on Barrow County, students, teachers and faculty may find it difficult to stay focused on their work.

Summer break is nearly in view, just a matter of three short weeks from today before the final bell of the 2011-12 school year rings Wednesday, May 22.

In the weeks that remain, there are a handful of fun items left on the school calendar to help the time pass quickly.

  • Teacher Appreciation Week takes place May 7 through 11, providing parents and students with a week full of opportunities to show Statham Elementary teachers just how much they are cherished
  • Statham Elementary Spirit Night from 5 to 8 p.m. May 10 at the in Winder during which a portion of the night’s proceeds benefits the school
  • Field Day is May 14 through 16 as students battle it out on the playground by class and grade
  • Award Days are set for May 17, 18, 21 and 22 for individual grades
  • Wildcat Walk for fifth graders who will be moving on to middle school next year is May 22
  • May 22 is also the last day of school
