Statham Community Yard Sales Can Help Residents with Spring Cleaning
The city is set to host community yard sales downtown the first and third Saturday of each month.
With the arrival of spring often follows a sudden overwhelming desire to clean and declutter — thus the universal phrase “spring clean.”
This annual calling is easier said than done for many who have accumulated more than their fair share of furniture, knick-knacks and clothing over the years.
They could simply shift it about to the overstuffed garage or somewhat-neglected basement for an “out of sight, out of mind” approach to spring cleaning. Another option might include dragging it all out to the curb for the garbage collectors to haul off. However, the city of Statham believes it has the ideal solution. Why not spend a Saturday amongst your neighbors in historic downtown at a community yard sale?

Community yard sales are hosted on Railroad Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the first and third Saturdays of each month. There is no charge for a space — vendors are asked to simply bring a table, chair and items to sell. Due to the popularity of these events and the expectation that they will continue to get bigger and better as the weather warms up, yard sale organizers have begun numbering the spaces to better manage these bi-weekly events. They ask that each vendor use only one space.
Additional rules and guidelines for Statham community yard sale participants to keep in mind are as follows:
