T.J.Maxx at Barrow Crossing to Open on Sunday

The first 1,000 customers will receive a free, reusable bag, and the company is donating $5,000 to a local nonprofit in celebration of the grand opening of its Barrow County store.

Barrow Crossing will add a new store to its retail shopping offerings — with the addition of 60 full- and part-time jobs for the area — this weekend. 

T.J.Maxx will open in the 26,000-square-foot suite 900 between the  and  stores on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. Store hours for the grand opening are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The first 1,000 shoppers to walk through the doors will receive a free, reusable shopping bag.

To celebrate the opening of its Barrow County location, T.J.Maxx is donating $5,000 to , a local, nonprofit organization that works to reduce the occurrence and impact of child abuse. The donation will be made during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

“We are pleased to expand our store base to Winder, delivering value and an exciting selection of fashion to serve the needs of customers,” Richard Sherr, president of T.J.Maxx, said in a news release. “With thousands of new items from top designers and brands arriving in each store every week from around the world, shoppers will discover a completely new store full of amazing values every time they visit.”

Regular store hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.
