Carl Goes Digital with New Website

The smallest Barrow County municipality now has an online presence.

With a population estimated to be less than 300 residents, the town of Carl was not as quick to jump on the digital bandwagon as some of its other larger neighboring Barrow County towns and cities.

While the municipalities of Auburn, Bethlehem, Braselton, Statham and Winder have all sported their very own multi-page websites for some time now and some even boast Facebook pages, Carl was content to remain on the outskirts of the World Wide Web. Those days are no more.

The town of Carl recently launched its very own website at www.townofcarl.com. Currently featuring a home page outlining a brief history of the town, along with contact information, the names of elected officials and town staff, and hours of operation for and the onsite library; a services page listing general information, business license costs, gazebo rental details and more; and a photo gallery page showcasing everything from the gazebo at the heart of town to a shot of Mayor David Brock and the rest of the council members in session at city hall, the website is classic and uncomplicated — much like the town it represents. City Clerk Deana Davis assures Patch that it’s still a work in progress, but up and running.
