Vintage Disney Chess Set Missing from Winder Home

A Winder man told a Barrow Sheriff’s deputy that a vintage Disney chess set was stolen and he thinks he knows who did it.

The 20-year-old said it might be his father, according to the incident report dated Feb. 21.

The father doesn’t live at the Jessica Court residence, but was there the previous day to pick up the victim’s brother, and was heard “going through things” in a bedroom where the set was hidden.

Nobody saw the father take the set, however.

The 30-year-old chess set, made out of cedar, glass and cast iron steel, is valued at $3,000. The victim said it was given to him by his grandmother.
