I'm hoping for more coverage about the candidates in the local media, but, in the meantime, please learn about the candidates through their campaign Facebook pages, their blogs and their mailings.
Remember, the person chosen for the At Large position of the Winder City Council needs to be focused on the CURRENT and future issues of the City, not on their accomplishments decades ago, or land that was purchased months before.
The person chosen for this position needs to think about now, and the next several years. This person will make decisions that affect your lives for the next decade.
We don't need people looking back, we need people who will look forward! We need a Council member who can think about the long range pros and cons and how their vote affects the lives of the citizens and visitors of Winder. We need someone with vision and the ability to think strategically.
This Council needs someone with energy, vitality, someone who is a strong public speaker, someone with charisma! We need a council member who will communicate openly and directly with their constituents. We need someone with the stamina and fortitude to continue fighting through the difficult conversations and decisions to be made. Someone who isn't afraid to ask the difficult questions.
This race is about so much more than yard signs, postcards, and handfans. This race is about the future, it's about diversity, and it's about doing what is sound, moral, and ethical, EVERY time.
And that means it's about choosing someone NEW, someone youthful, someone who cares about this City and the people in it, someone with substance and clarity of values.
What you do in the privacy of your voting booth will matter on November 5. Vote Nicole Tobias for Winder City Council and see for yourself.
