Winder’s Recent Request for Proposals Now Closed
Price sheets from 21 companies vying for the city's utility bill printing and mailing services contract are now available for review online.
In June, Barrow Patch reported that the City of Winder was requesting proposals from companies interested in assuming responsibility for Utility Bill Printing and Mailing Services. This is no small task, as Winder currently provides water, sewer, garbage, natural gas and other miscellaneous services for a population of approximately 35,000 citizens.
By the time the RFP period closed at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 13, proposals had been received from 21 companies as close as Atlanta and Duluth, and as far away as Anaheim, California and Spokane, Washington. The price sheets from each of the companies that tossed their hats into the ring for consideration have been posted online, and are now available for review by the public. A 22nd candidate for the contract had to be disqualified because the company’s bid was received after the proposal period had ended.
According to the “Instructions to Bidders” portion of the original RFP, an evaluation of each proposal and the selection of the top proposals will now be performed by the City. The top proposers may be invited to make a presentation on site in the City of Winder. The selection recommendation will then be presented to the City Council for their approval and the contract will be awarded. Once selected, the contract will commence on the date of the award and continue for a period of two years. The City of Winder reserves the right to extend the contract for three one-year periods, provided both parties are in agreement. Preference will be given to Georgia companies.
