Brookhaven Mayor: 'Very Concerned' About Sandy Springs Project

A controversial new development that is planned in Brookhaven Mayor Rebecca Chase Williams’ neighborhood will appear again before the Sandy Springs City Council on Oct. 6.
According to the Brookhaven Post, Williams and other local residents appeared before the Sandy Springs Planning Commission last Thursday night.

North American Properties wants to construct 305 apartments and 10,000 square feet of medical offices on two Old Johnson Ferry lots owned by St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Williams and other local residents say they are worried about the project’s density and possible increased levels of traffic gridlock.

According to Williams, the project will add 2,000 more car trips a day to a corridor that already reaches into the tens of thousands.
