Chamblee Getting New Call Center
The city is responding with to complaints about its current phone system, which residents say is confusing to navigate.

CHAMBLEE, GA — Responding to citizen complaints about dropped calls and getting lost in the automated-message shuffle, the City of Chamblee has opened a new call center.
" We’ve been told about the frustration of calls getting lost in the myriad of voicemails and phone tree options," the city said in a news release. "We feel the best way to answer this call to action is by having a real person answer your call."
Chamblee has entered into a partnership with a private company to run the center. Starting April 12, calls regarding city concerns will be answered 24 hours a day at the call center. The number is 770-986-5010.

That number may be called for any questions, service requests, incident reports or to talk to a city employee — although Chamblee residents should still call 911 in case of an emergency. The operator will take the call and assign it to appropriate city staff.

"Our goal is to improve customer service and be responsive and efficient," said Chamblee City Manager Jon Walker. "No one wants to press buttons or worry if a voicemail will ever be heard. We believe the call center and live operators will be better able to assist callers with their requests."
