City Considering 'Welcome to Brookhaven' Entrance

Mayor: 'Incredible opportunity ... to have a beautiful entrance' to Brookhaven

Mayor Rebecca Chase Williams wants the city to purchase a $350,000 piece of property at Brookhaven’s northern end to be used as a pocket park and provide “a beautiful entrance” to the municipality.

Williams made her comments at Tuesday night’s Brookhaven City Council meeting, according to the Brookhaven Post.

The property, located at 4131 Ashford Dunwoody Road at the corner of the Oak Forest neighborhood, is in District 1. Councilwoman Linley Jones supports the purchase, but Bates Mattison from District 3 and District 2’s John Park both expressed reservations about the land’s cost.
