The Brown Derby Hands On

With George Geary.  The Brown Derby, a Hollywood legend, was a restaurant shaped like a derby hat that opened on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. The restaurant was part of the “golden age of Hollywood” and was the culinary haunt for many stars, including icons such as Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. Unfortunately, the restaurant closed many years ago, but George Geary is on a mission to keep the spirit of the restaurant alive. In this class, George returns to the “golden age” and prepares the specialties of the house from The Brown Derby Cookbook published in the 1930’s. Join him in the kitchen to learn the secrets of these favorites from the Brown Derby kitchen: Fresh Onion Soup, Meat Sauce with Pasta, Paprika Chicken, Avocado Mushroom Stuffing, Sour Cream Raisin Biscuits, and Cherries Flambé à la Brown Derby. Relive the Golden Age of Hollywood with George and this nostalgic menu!
