Japan House is Atlanta's newest cultural, fitness, wellness center. It offers instruction in traditional martial arts, featuring Aikido, Kempo Karate, Jujutsu, and Tai Chi Chuan. Wellness programs include Qigong, Yoga, and Shiatsu Massage Therapy. The Saturday Showcase at Japan House will be held on the last Saturday of every month. Showcased in July will be the non-violent, self-defense art of Aikido.
Reading today's headlines, many women feel they are a higher risk for becoming victims of attack and would like to learn a martial art for protection purposes. While not everyone is dedicated to long-term training, an intensive self-defense seminar can provide the necessary knowledge that can potentially save a woman's life. "Self Defense for Women" is designed to demonstrate practical, non-confrontational, and easy-to-remember aikido techniques. The black-belt instructor of the class has over forty years of experience in teaching aikido.
Participants are asked to wear comfortable workout clothing. Students need not have received prior martial arts training, and the workshop is open to men and women of all ages. Because class size is limited, reservations are encouraged.
