6th and 8th grade students will be screened for scoliosis during their connection classes. The Health/PE teachers will be conducting the screenings. A letter was sent home on October 13 explaining the screening (CLICK HERE for a copy). The letter must be signed by the parent and returned by Wednesday if a student is already being seen by a doctor for scoliosis or the parent prefers that the student not be screened. Any student who does not return a signed letter must be screened according to Georgia law.
This is a simple procedure and might possibly spot a problem before it becomes a health concern.
