The St. Francis Pet Ministry of St. Martin in the Fields Church Dog Training Classes

The St. Francis Pet Ministry of St. Martin in the Fields Church is offering dog training classes for the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen test.   Classes will run 5 weeks (Mondays beginning 9/12-10/17) and will be taught by dog trainer Lennox Gavin. Classes are limited to six teams. (Teams consist of one dog, plus humans).

The Canine Good Citizen is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. It stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs.  For more information on the test, visit www.akc.org/events/cgc/.

Owners are required to bring proof of vaccinations, a six foot leash and regular collar. Graduates will be able to participate in St. Martin's Pet Therapy Program to visit schools, nursing homes and others in need of pet visitation.
