Georgia Church Fires Pastor Who Banned 103-Year-Old Woman

But Rev. Tim Maddox, who banned Genora Biggs from Mount Grove Baptist, refuses to leave, and has obtained a restraining order.

The pastor who banned a 103-year-old woman from attending an Elberton Georgia church has been fired himself.

However, Rev. Tim Mattox of Mount Grove Baptist Church is refusing to leave and, according to the Athens Banner-Herald, has obtained a restraining order against two of the church’s members.

The drama began several weeks ago, when Genora Biggs -- who has attended the church for more than nine decades -- was banned by Mattox after several disputes over his style of preaching.

According to reports, the church voted to fire Mattox, but he has ignored that vote. The church then sent Mattox a letter of termination, and ordered him to remove his belongings.

Now, Mattox and a church deacon have obtained a restraining order against one of Biggs’ grandchildren and the church secretary.
