Google Fiber Unveils Prices, Options for Internet, TV in Brookhaven

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Like a lot of folks, Brookhaven Patch has been anxiously awaiting details regarding Google Fiber's ultra high-speed internet offerings.

Brookhaven is one of several metro Atlanta communities that the tech giant is targeting for expansion.

Well, according to Google Fiber's Atlanta website, the company is unveiling some pricing plans and programs, and it appears that the company will be offering a TV service as well:

Fiber 1000 + TV

• $130/mo
• Up to 1,000 Mbps upload and download speeds
• Download an HD movie in 40 seconds
• 220+ TV channels, HD included
• Record up to 8 shows at once
• No data caps
• No rental fees for your Wi-Fi router and first TV Box with HD DVR

Fiber 1000 Gigabit Internet

• $70/mo
• Up to 1,000 Mbps upload and download speeds
• Download an HD movie in 40 seconds
• No data caps
• No rental fee for your Wi-Fi router

Fiber 100, Up to 100 Mbps

• $50/mo
• Up to 100 Mbps upload and download speeds
• Download an HD movie in 6 minutes
• No data caps
• No rental fee for your Wi-Fi router

Besides Brookhaven, Google Fiber is also coming to Avondale Estates, Decatur, Sandy Springs and Smyrna, as well as College Park, East Point and Hapeville.

No word yet on when Google will actually begin installing its service into actual residences. But its obvious from the plans and prices above that the company intends to be a serious competitor to established giants like Comcast, AT&T and XFinity in metro Atlanta.
