Mindfulness, Mantras, and Mudras to Manage Your Mood

As we move into less, light-filled days, and night falling earlier, you may notice various mood changes as well. Caring for our emotional and mental health is as important as caring for our physical health. In fact, they are all connected – dysfunction in our mental/emotional states can show up in the body. Interestingly, did you know that research shows that depression is a stronger indicator of cardiovascular disease than traditional indicators such as smoking, cholesterol, and obesity? The good news is that we have significant abilities to influence our moods and our health through simple mindfulness techniques such as meditation, breathwork, mindful yoga, mantras, and mudras. These ancient techniques are over 2500 years old yet still applicable to the fast pace of our modern society. The benefits of mindfulness include, but are not limited to:

regulated blood pressure, improved sleep, enhanced immune system functioning, reduced pain and greater ability in coping with chronic pain, reduced inflammation, greater stress resilience and reduced depression/anxiety symptoms.
