#OPERATIONHAWKRESCUE - Right here in Brookhaven by local firefighters

#OPERATIONHAWKRESCUE - Brookhaven Residents Karen and Michael Smyth watched an injured hawk fly upon a tree in their yard on a quiet Saturday afternoon. He perched himself 50 feet up in the tree and never moved. By 8pm, he was still there. They contacted various groups to help assist the injured bird of prey but to no avail. It wasn’t until 24 hours later that the DeKalb Fire and Rescue, Station #2 Brookhaven were contacted. They assessed the situation and #operationhawkrescue began. Fellow Brookhaven neighbor and Hawk/Falcon specialist Brian Crow (and his wife Sarah) arrived and the entire neighborhood and team effort was utilized to bring the hawk down, into a box and transported to safety. Great work by all! We appreciate our local fire
