Video, Sketch Released In Brookhaven Country Club Shooting

The reward for information in the shooting, which happened after a wedding at the country club, has been increased to $10,000.

BROOKHAVEN, GA — Police have released a sketch and video of someone they're calling a person of interest in the shooting of a man who was leaving a wedding at a country club in Brookhaven.

The surveillance video shows a man Atlanta Police say may have been involved with a carjacking in Forest Park on July 6. The vehicle that was stolen was later used in the robbery and shooting early Sunday outside the Capital City Country Club at 53 West Brookhaven Dr.

In a news release, Atlanta Police Department spokesman Sgt. John Chafee said investigators are not positive that the person in the video is the same suspect in a sketch released Wednesday. There do appear to be some similarities in the two, though.

After getting items from them, the gunman started heading back to his vehicle, but one of the robbery victims — Christian Broder, of Washington D.C. — tried to follow him. That's when the gunman fired once, striking Broder in the stomach. He then got in the passenger side of the vehicle and the driver pulled away.

Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta has increased the reward for information in the case to $10,000.
