More than 60,000 runners participated in Atlanta's 4th of July tradition.
Atlanta, GA -- The 2016 AJC Peachtree Road Race was held July 4, 2016, with more than 60,000 runners and participants braving hot temperatures, high humidity and elevated security to be part of the world's largest 10K.
Security was tighter at this year's event, according to police, in the wake of several terrorist attacks held all over the world in recent months.
Two Emory University students were killed in a terrorist attack at a cafe in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka over the weekend.
